Chris Jones  Proprietor

Before returning to the family farm, Chris had a varied career including being a Policeman in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, a Territorial Officer, a Forester, an Oilfield Specialist as well as farm and land management. In recent years his passion for sustainability and climate change adaptation has seen him get involved in projects locally, nationally and internationally including The Cornwall Beaver Project and  The Beaver trust. Chris is a member of the Barbets Duet network as well as the current Chairman of Transition Ladock and Grampound Road. He is a mean barbecue chef and can be found taking guests on tractor rides around the farm.

 

Janet Jones  Proprietor

Janet was born in Canada and moved to Trenowth, near Truro, in 1962. Growing up in a farming environment Janet spent much of her time working on the farm. Upon leaving school she worked in the entertainment industry, designing and installing lighting and sound systems as well as becoming a BSAC diving instructor working as a guide in the Red Sea.  Janet  has  lived at Woodland Valley since 1995 and has been working and managing the farm ever since. Janet is a talented musician and committed horsewoman.

Felicity Jones

Hospitality manager and wedding coordinator

Felicity arrived as a newborn at the farm in    1997 .  Felicity has fabulous customer service at heart and is committed to the future of the farm and its enterprises.

Will 

When Will is not serving the bubbly he can be found studying acting at The university of Bath Spa and is destined for a career treading the boards! 

Jacky

Jacky takes a break from her studies in media and eventing to give wonderful service with a smile!

Sam

Sam studied Catering and Hospitality at Cornwall College he works in all areas and will always exceed our guests expectations!

Woodland Valley is an organic farm with an award winning event and activity centre with group accommodation being the perfect venue for your Green Wedding.

We are situated in a beautiful wooded valley just off the beaten track in Mid Cornwall.

The Jones family have been farming Woodland Valley  for three Generations, since 1960, set in just over 117 acres comprising of woodland, streams, ponds and wetland it is a haven for wildlife and some rare birds.

  In 2017 the first pair of European Beavers were introduced here and the farm then  became the  home of  'The Cornwall Beaver Project' in partnership with The Cornwall Wildlife Trust. 

The farm is also home to a herd of Organic dairy cows who produce the most wonderful milk!

Our beautifully converted farm buildings offer scope for many different styles of wedding and reception ideas from 40 - 150 guests. We are licensed to hold wedding ceremonies and civil partnership services in The Granary, The Roundhouse, Heifers House and Orchard Barn also the extensive outdoor  areas using a 'step in step out' ceremony.

Celebrants can conduct your service in any area of the farm.

We understand that your dogs are part of your loving family and welcome well behaved ones and we are sure you will understand they do need to be kept on a lead near the livestock.
